As with anything Sound Percussion, it’s for newbies. If you’re looking for some good quality pedals, get something from Yamaha or Tama. SP will not cut it for you. Well, not entirely.

The pedals are okay for starting out on the double bass. If you’re looking to venture into new territory and want to just save on a bit of cash, then feel free to give it a whirl. It’ll go fast, but it also lags. A lot. The pedals don’t feel identical, and even the beater for the left is behind. This is really for those who don’t know what the hell to get and just want a double pedal because they might think it’s cool.

Trust your gut. The price is the price for a reason.

Mark does an incredible job of taking the guess work out of setting up sound for rooms of all types and configurations. Follow his easy to understand plan, and you will look like a pro. I think the best thing is when NO ONE NOTICES the audio at an event. I know that when I notice things, it is because they sound so bad.

I asked about one of these at Guitar Center, and the Accessories guy looked at my like I was from another planet, so I was really excited to find this one! It’s not perfect, but seeing as how this is the only one in existence, it’ll have to do. I’m doing an acoustic duo with a singer, and this really adds an extra dimension to the sound when it’s just the two of us. You do have to adjust your strumming technique, but after a few minutes I got used to it and really dug how it helps things groove. Sounds great as a shaker, but it’s too too big, heavy and unwieldy to be useful as a pick. On top of that, the pick itself is too thin for my taste. The the Rhythm Ring instead.
